I began teaching community art classes for the organisation Creative Future in summer 2012 and it’s been fantastic. As well as being fun and rewarding, getting creative is excellent for general well-being. Drawing and other activities are mindful, focussed activities which can be relaxing as well as invigorating. My classes are suitable for any ability, in addition to helping get those who are dipping their toe in, I can advise those who are experienced and wish to push their practice. We all learn to create through drawing and play, even experienced artists need to take time to play and experiment with new materials to keep their work fresh and vibrant. I’ve worked with people who have little to no artistic experience and through exploring materials, shape and colour they have left my class having enjoyed creating work they very happy with.
